Storage within a household can be quite a challenge for people, especially those with large families. Keeping a house nice and tidy without “clutter” being placed in certain places is important for a proud homeowner to make sure that everything is where it should be.
Many people will go to the extremes of renovating their houses so that things are far more accessible and storage space created.
If you are lucky enough to have a garage, this is commonly used as a storage facility for people (It is rarely actually used to store a car). Within the bedrooms, there are many different solutions and ideas that we will detail below.
Underneath the bed is a fantastic place to store things, and it is actually wasted space in some homes. There is not much more you can do with this space in the house apart from store things.
For bunk beds, you can purchase excellent quality discount furniture from Price Busters where there are many different options in terms of beds/bunk beds. Some will come with drawers underneath them, and others are a lot more creative and will have these at the sides (or even an extension part to them).
The design of bunk beds for children can be highly creative also, with many kids having their bunkbeds designed with their favorite character or Disney film!
A wardrobe is a terrific way to store lots of clothes but there is also an opportunity with a wardrobe. With clothes, these do not take up the full length of a wall, but a wardrobe does take up a lot of room.
As a result, there is the opportunity to purchase a wardrobe that actually has drawers at the bottom of it (or at least an opening) but also potentially space at the top. This will help maximize some of that potentially wasted space.
In addition to this, you also have the opportunity for walk-in wardrobes. These are pretty common with any new build house and are standard.
However, if you do not have one of these, it is easily made with a little DIY. Within the walk-in wardrobe, you are sectioning off a full area in a bedroom dedicated just for storage. Not only can you hang clothes, but you could place shoes and other larger items within it.
If going down this route, it is important to get the balance right between storage space and the look and ambience in the room, as filling a shelf up with a lot of items could then look like clutter.
If you don’t opt for a bed on the bottom, you might even have some room for a desk underneath your kid’s bed. They will have a dedicated place to study and do homework where they can concentrate better and even indulge in some painting, puzzles, and anything else that a desk might help with.
