According to a Greek myth, Prometheus stole fire from Zeus. For this rebellious act, he was cruelly punished – an eagle was to feast upon his liver, which would then grow back so that the giant bird could return on the following day to repeat the torture.
We prefer to think that the Greek deity became angry because Prometheus stole not fire but chocolate. That’s because we absolutely love chocolate. Chocolate tastes delicious, makes Autumn and Winter evenings bearable, and actually has some proven health benefits.
If you love chocolate as much as we do, then eating an entire chocolate bar in one sitting doesn’t seem like a challenge to you. You can buy chocolate basically everywhere, but if you don’t want to leave your house, you could even order wholesale white chocolate from the internet.
However, although chocolate is healthy in small amounts, you shouldn’t overdo it. No, it’s impossible to OD on chocolate, but you shouldn’t forget that most types of chocolate are full of sugar. That’s why it’s best to exercise some control.
Below you will find a list of chocolate recipes. We have chosen the ones that don’t require too much work, but at the same time, are healthy and tasty. We hope you’ll have a lot of fun trying them out and that they will make your life a little bit more magical.
Chocolate Is Great!
Although chocolate tastes delicious, it is also good for you. It contains a lot of manganese, copper, but also iron and magnesium. Dark chocolate is healthier, as it contains less sugar. At the same time, dark chocolate usually has more caffeine than milk or white chocolate. That’s why, ideally, you wouldn’t eat too much chocolate before going to bed, or you might find it difficult to fall asleep.
Another reason why eating moderate amounts of chocolate is not a bad thing is that chocolate has a lot of antioxidants, even more than most fruits. Antioxidants “defend” the cells in your organism from being damaged by free radicals.
White Chocolate Cookies
Okay, so our first choice – white chocolate cookies – is completely gluten and soy-free. If you are a vegan, you can safely eat them – no animal products are used in the process of making them.
So, what do you need?
- 85g of cashews
- 45g of oats
- 3 tablespoons of maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- 60g of white chocolate
The first step is simple – just grind the cashews and oats. Once you’ve turned them into a powder, add the maple syrup and vanilla extract and mix it all together. Then, take about 30g of white chocolate, and snap the pieces into smaller chunks, add them, and mix all the ingredients, but this time preferably not using a food processor. Why? That’s because of the texture – the cookies will taste better if the chocolate chunks don’t disappear completely.
Now, it’s time to form cookies using the dough. You can form a regular cookie shape, or you can be creative. Either way, they will all eventually end up in your stomach.
What about the remaining 30g of white chocolate? Melt the chocolate, and drizzle it over the cookies using a baking brush or a spoon. Voila!
If it’s dark when you wake up to work and come back home, those white chocolate cookies are like a light in the darkness. They taste great, they don’t require that many ingredients, and you don’t need to be an experienced baker! If you are feeling extra generous, you might even share them with your friends or family, though we’ll understand if the temptation is just too strong.
Paleo Chocolate Cookies
The paleo diet has been a major trend for quite some time. We tend to eat too much processed food, which has terrible health consequences. Paleo diet consists only of foods that were available to our hunter-gatherer ancestors some ten thousand years ago.
According to proponents of this diet, our bodies are used to eating meat, fruits, vegetables, but also seeds. However, products such as dairy and grains are avoided as potentially harmful. The subject of nutrition is insanely complex, and we don’t know everything about our bodies, but the truth is, many people are better off not eating grains and dairy.
What about cookies? Even if you follow a paleo diet, you don’t need to skip on them! We have a recipe just for you!
Okay, so what are the required ingredients?
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 30g of coconut oil
- 60g of coconut sugar
- 130g of almond flour
- 30g of coconut flour
- Half of a teaspoon of baking soda
- 80g of chocolate
- Salt
Once you are ready to start your adventure with paleo chocolate cookies, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (176* Celsius). Mix a beaten egg, melted coconut oil (before you add it, make sure it is cool), vanilla extract, and coconut sugar. After you are done with this part, add almond flour, coconut flour, and baking soda. Once you’ve mixed all the ingredients, and the dough is ready, add the chocolate chunks.
Next, place the dough on a baking sheet and form cookies. Leave them in an oven for about 12 minutes. After that, just add some salt. Your paleo chocolate cookies are ready. Just wait a bit for the cookies to cool off, or you might burn your tongue. What’s best, they don’t contain any gluten or dairy.
Chocolate Mousse
We don’t know who said that vegan sweets don’t taste good, but we are absolutely positive that this person didn’t try vegan chocolate mousse. It tastes great, but you also don’t need a lot of ingredients. Okay, so what exactly do you need?
- 1 can of coconut milk
- 30g of cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar (too much sugar is unhealthy!)
- 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract
Of all the recipes in this article, chocolate mousse is actually the easiest to make. You need cold coconut milk, so simply store it in your fridge before you start making chocolate mousse. Try to be careful with the can of coconut milk. No, it won’t explode if you make a sudden move, but you don’t want the cream and the water to mix. Why? Because you only need the cream.
Place it in a bowl and whip it. Once it is smooth, you can add cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract, and mix them all together. Then just whip them, and soon, your vegan chocolate mousse will be ready! We recommend sharing it with your friends so that they can be impressed by how good it tastes!
Try Them Out!
We hope that you’ll try out those awesome chocolate recipes. Even if you normally prefer to order food from the internet, the ones that we’ve chosen are both easy to make and super delicious! They can surely make your life a little bit better.
If you’ve noticed that your friends are going through a tough time, you can give them sweet gifts. No matter the situation, chocolate cookies are an excellent way to brighten someone’s day. Unless they are allergic to chocolate.
