Emphasis on Halloween decoration is usually on the outdoors. You will mostly be out trick or treating, so what it the point. You may get some unexpected guests, and it can be quite a buzz kill if you are not prepared.
You do not have to go over the top with your decoration. You can use everyday items and still achieve an impressive look. In this article, we look at some simple yet impactful ways to decorate your home.
One way you can make your home ready is by changing the lighting scheme. You do not need to have an electrician over. Paint some of the bulbs in the house orange and get that eerie lighting.
If your house features lampshades, you can add images of Halloween characters to create silhouettes. A witch here, a spider, a cat by the ceiling are not bad ideas for you to try out.
You can place some Halloween themed wreaths on the doors. Make sure you differentiate them so that every door resembles an entrance to a different realm. You can make some Styrofoam tombstones and place them in strategic places around the house. Places like the mantle or the study table by the corner are great for these decorations.
Rather than carve out jack-o-lanterns with your pumpkins, use them as drink holders. Alternatively, you can paint them over with Halloween designs. Replace your regular welcome mat with one that is more Halloween themed.
Choose one that has witty quotes printed on it. You can also change the tone on your doorbell. From the dollar store, you can get one that has a scary laugh as opposed to the usual ding dong.
Not only front door or porch but the interior of the house also need to decorate. This is essential if you want the whole house to be immersed in Halloween.
